In the 10 years since our launch in 2012, Red Umbrella Fund has given 279 grants to 180 organisations in 68 countries. Every year we share our list of grants including the names of the grantee-partner organisations that request to be published on our website. Organisations that wish to stay anonymous do not have their name or country publicly available. Please contact us if you would like to contact any of our former-grantees or discuss their work.
In 2022 Red Umbrella Fund’s PAC awarded €1,300,000 – our first time giving more than a million in a single year – bringing total grants to €7,886,500!

It conducts outreach throughout the country to expand its reach. Fundación Margen de Apoyo y Promoción de la MujerChile Local Spanish This group promotes the sexual and reproductive health, including HIV/AIDS, and human rights of women sex workers in Chile. The group reaches around 700 sex workers, most of them in the capital city, through outreach by peer educators, handing out condoms, accompanying sex workers to health centres, and informative workshops. Malawi Sex Workers Alliance (MSWA)Malawi Local, National English This group of women sex workers was formed in 2014 to advocate for the health and human rights of sex workers. Malawi Sex Workers Alliance (MASWA) reaches out to law and policy makers and enforcers to improve the way sex workers are perceived and treated in the country. The group documents human rights violations, provides training on human rights to sex workers, and supports sex workers to access justice. Learn more

Red de Mujeres Trabajadoras Sexuales de América Latina y El Caribe (REDTRASEX)
Red de Mujeres Trabajadoras Sexuales de América Latina y El Caribe (REDTRASEX)Regional Network - Argentina Based International Spanish This 20-year-old regional network of sex worker-led groups in Latin America and the Spanish-speaking Caribbean has members in 14 countries and reaches 17,000 sex workers. Its mission is to support national sex workers’ organisations in their fight towards recognition of sex workers’ rights. RedTraSex organises trainings of its members on political advocacy, participates in national and international advocacy spaces, runs media campaigns, and produces and disseminates evidence-based material to promote sex workers’ rights. Tikondane CBO
Tikondane CBOMalawi local, subnational English Selling sex is legal in Malawi. However, there is a law against “any common prostitute behaving in a disorderly or indecent manner in any public place” and vagrancy laws used against sex workers. In its work, Tikondane aims to support female sex workers by increasing access to quality healthcare, social and legal support, information and sustainable systems of livelihood. With this grant, Tikondane aims to organise sensitisation activities and develop information, education and communication materials for the community.
