Red Umbrella Fund (RUF) is pleased to welcome Stella Kawira as Programme Associate!Stella has a wealth of experience working with sex worker-led organisations particularly in the African region.Before joining Red Umbrella Fund, she worked with African Sex Workers Alliance (ASWA) in various positions: first as a faculty member of the Sex Workers Academy Africa, then as Programme Officer for the Academy and finally as Programme Coordinator for the Academy.
Stella is a mother and a fierce advocate for key affected populations’ rights.She is our first Programme Associate working outside of our home office in Amsterdam, Netherlands.She is based in Nairobi, Kenya and will be taking over administering grants in both Africa and English-speaking Caribbean.
Stella started working at Red Umbrella Fund on 30 August 2021.She joined the team as Alex Kain leaves the fund for new adventures.We are thankful for Alex’s work with the Red Umbrella Fund that contributed to making its stronger.
